ceramic metal halide
CMH (Ceramic Metal Halide) or LEC (Light Emitting Ceramic) lamps are two different terms that refer to the same technology.
A CMH grow light is like a metal halide (MH) lamp. However, while an MH lamp uses a standard quartz arc tube, the CMH is built with a ceramic arc tube. This is similar to the material used for HPS grow lights. Therefore, CMH is a mix of MH and HPS.
Because it uses ceramic arc material, CMH degrades less slowly than MH and HPS, achieving a maximum lifespan of 20,000 hours. CMH can operate at higher pressure and emit a stronger light output.
